MOHAMED TAMAN (EGYPT)
Lives and works in Cairo. He studied Fine Arts at the Helwan University. Honoured several sponsorship awards in Egypt. Subsequently scholarships at the UNESCO in Lyon and stays as artist in residence, amongst others at the Kunsthalle St. Gallen. Participation at numerous individual and group exhibitions in Egypt and Europe. Developed an own method for the production of colour pigments and oil colours, which give his paintings a ghostly-metallic charisma. Became politically active in 2006 and participated in the resistance movement against the Mubarak regime.
